Everyone and Everything
(The idea here, generally, is ... well, you get the idea.)
"Everyone," Van Morrison
"Everything," Jeffrey Gaines
"Everything in Its Right Place," Radiohead
"Everything Is Alright," Mark Heard
"Everything Is Alright," Phil Keaggy
"Everything Is Broken," Bob Dylan
"Everything Reminds Me of My Dog," Jane Siberry
"Everything's Changed," Mightyhead
"Everything's OK," The Frogs
Those last two are actually the same band. They lost the name "Frogs" to a bat-winged, litigious combo that used to be called the Gila Monsters. At that point the Frogs (the wide-eyed, hoppy former Frogs, not the current The Frogs) became Mightyhead and, still sounding a bit like The Turtles, became crowd favorites at the Chameleon Club and released a fine CD on Lizard Records.

I highly, highly reccommend Rio En Medio's "Everyone is Someone's". There's a MySpace page.

"Everything's The Same" - Vanity Project (BNL's Steven Page solo)
"Everything Has Changed" - The Clarks

"Everyone Loves Ned Flanders," The Simpsons
"Everyone's A Whore," Pat McCurdy
"Everything," Eight Fingers Down
"Everything (I Did Was Wrong)," Stormgarde
"Everything Changes," Matthew Sweet
"Everything Must Go," Steely Dan
"Everything Right Is Wrong Again," They Might Be Giants
"Everything That Rises Must Converge," Shriekback
"Everything To Everyone," Everclear
"Everything You Know Is Wrong," Weird Al Yankovic
"Everything You Want," Vertical Horizon
"Everything Zen," Bush
A fairly strong selection this week, even after removing those tracks that overlap with Fred's list. My personal favorite, and not only for the name, is "Everything That Rises Must Converge," but I dunno if 80s new-wave/proto-goth-metal is Fred's thing.
As for the rest, the Matthew Sweet and Steely Dan selections are nicely done and very accessible, the They Might Be Giants and Weird Al Yankovic tunes are suitably brain-bending, and the Vertical Horizon and Bush numbers aren't great art but are catchy as all hell.
(I think Fred should have titled this week's selection "Everything To Everyone," even if he doesn't have the Everclear song.)

Wow, can contribute this week. Hooray!
"Everyone Alive," Local H (three versions)
"Everyone's a Junkie," Our Lady Peace
"Everything," Collective Soul
"Everything (As it Moves)," Idlewild
"Everything to Everyone," Everclear (that's a lot of ever...)
In case anyone is wondering, I am a child of the '90s...

I started thinking you left off "Everthing is Unfinished" Barenaked Ladies, but then remembered the the song is titled "Unfinished", but the album is "Everything to Everyone", which reminded me of the Everclear song. . . which reminded me of a certain ex girl friend. . . long story short, that's why I'm voting for Ron Paul.

Only 37 qualify this time. My library is pretty divided on its opinion of everything. On the one hand:
"Everything's Cool," Lit
"Everything's Just Wonderful," Lily Allen
"Everything's OK," Welt (I highly recommend Welt, especially the "Broke Down" album.)
"Everything Will Be Alright", The Killers
On the other hand:
"Everything's Ruined," Faith No More
"Everything's Wrong," The Blackouts
"Everything Dies," Type O Negative
"Everything Sucks," Reel Big Fish
"Everything Sucks (Again)," Pitchshifter
"Everything Sucks (When You're Gone)," MxPx
Other songs in the range that I think are cool, but which dimwittedly fail to offer an opinion on everything:
"Everyone's A Winner," The Meligrove Band
"Everything I Do Gonh Be Funky (From Now On)," Candypants
"Everything I Want to Be," Save Ferris
"Everything You Said Has Been a Lie," The Toasters

I'm in the middle of replenishing my playlist after iPod trauma, but I had to note that one of my absolute favorite songs of the 00s falls into this batch: "Everyone Choose Sides," by the Wrens.*
This song has just a perfect evocation of a certain kind of ennui/angst:
Thirteen grand a year in the Meadowlands,
Bored and rural poor--Lord, at thirty-five, right,
I'm the best seventeen-year-old ever...
*Side note: I've never seen this video before, and it doesn't so much do the music justice, so feel free to ignore it and just listen to the song.

I hear that, Robb...
long story short, that's why I'm voting for Ron Paul.
Except I prefer to drown my memories by casting votes for Dennis Kucinich. We need to make that an internet meme...

Trying to filter out things previously mentioned and things that aren't really songs.

"Everyone Squeaks Gently", Danielle Dax
"Everyone", Van Morrison
"Everyone's a Little Bit Racist", Avenue Q Soundtrack
"Everything Counts", DIN
"Everything Counts", Depeche Mode, 40 recordings (it's possible I'm a little obsessive)
"Everything Counts", Depeche Mode and Alan Moulder
"Everything Counts", InnerView

Aww, now I'm sad. I'd regarded my 13 recordings of Pearl Jam covering "Baba O'Riley" and 12 versions of multiple tracks from "Black" to "Yellow Ledbetter" an accomplishment. But you, sir, have shown me to be little more than a charlatan...

"Everything's Disappeared," Steinski & Mass Media
"Everything Is Under Control," Coldcut

"Everyone in the world is doing something without me" - Future Sound of London
"Everything you do is a balloon" - Boards of Canada
"Everything is Everything" - Lauryn Hill
Honorable mention:
"Anti-Everything" - Break Beat Era

"Everything you do is gonna come back to you
Everything you say is gonna turn on you (in some way)
Everything you've done is gonna bite you back (just for fun)
Everything you do is gonna come back to you - back to you - back to you"
—Cowboy Mouth, "Everything You Do," Easy
Now, if you'd included "Everybody," we'd probably be here all week.

I had a lot of Everybodys, but those don't count.
"Everyday Glory", Rush (Bite me, they're a guilty pleasure.)
"Everything You Know is Wrong", Weird Al (Oh, come on. This one's awesome. Maybe his second-best next to "Albuquerque".)
"Everything's Just Wonderful", Lily Allen (*shrug*)

Hmmm. Lots of, "everybody", but no, "everyone".
Everything Happens To Me, Wynton Marsalis
Everything I Say, Rockerfellas
Everything's Gonna Be Alright, Muddy Waters

cjmr's husband: "Everything You Know is Wrong"... in my pants. "Everything's Just Wonderful"... in my pants.
Two contradictory statements, both hilarious.
Posted by: Joshua | Sep 21, 2007 at 03:06 PM
Aaaaaaaaaaand, I apparently can't spell. "Everyday Glory" doesn't count for today's game.
Posted by: Joshua | Sep 21, 2007 at 03:08 PM
Well, if we're moving into Everyday, we can include the excellent
"Everyday I Write the Book", Elvis Costello
"Everyday", Dave Matthews Band (the one good song on that album)
"Everyday Glory", Rush (Bite me, they're a guilty pleasure.)
Feel no guilt - Rush is nerd rock, and seriously, I can't imagine a lot of the folks that comment here claiming to be anything other than a hardcore nerd.
Posted by: Robb | Sep 21, 2007 at 03:24 PM
I claim closet nerd status. I come across as fairly normal right up until we hit a discussion of computers, audio equipment, history or my collection of painted BattleMechs...

"Everything's Exploding" The Flaming Lips
Posted by: Rusty Shackleford | Sep 21, 2007 at 04:06 PM
I have not a single "Everyone" song. Interesting. Anyway,
"Everything's Ruined" - Fountains of Wayne. Disposable song, hanging out on my iPod only because I tend to be an album completist.
"Everything Falls Apart" - Husker Du. Indispensable song by great 80s band.
"Everything Flows" - Teenage Fanclub. Great song by great Scottish band. In the mid-90s this was a big college rock song, maybe forgotten by the younger generation.
"Everything Hits at Once" - Spoon. I've just jumped on the Spoon bandwagon and haven't decided how far I want to ride it. Pretty catchy little song though.
"Everything I Try to do, Nothing seems to turn out Right" - The Decemberists. Maybe the greatest band of the 21st century so far, but if you're not a fan this song will not convert you.
"Everything is Turning To Gold" - The Rolling Stones. A b side or something that shows up on the "Sucking in the Seventies" compilation. Despite being a huge Stones fan in my youth, I only heard this song this year. Worth getting if you're a Stones fan.
"Everything you've done wrong" - Sloan. Pop guitar rock with a horn section, probably one of the most infectious songs written in the 90s. Why this wasn't a big hit, I have no idea. Sloan is horribly overlooked.
Posted by: vanya | Sep 21, 2007 at 04:35 PM
"Everything Had Changed", Barenaked Ladies
"Everything", Barenaked Ladies
"Everything I Try To Do, Nothing Seems To Turn Out Right", The Decemberists
"Everything In Its Right Place", Radiohead
"Everything Must Go", The Weakerthans
Honorable mention: "Section 18 (Everything Starts At The Seam)", The Polyphonic Spree
Posted by: Aaron M | Sep 21, 2007 at 07:29 PM
"Everything's Coming Up Roses," Ethel Merman.
Posted by: Linkmeister | Sep 21, 2007 at 08:23 PM
Vanya (re: Sloan) - I agree with you, but I heard one reviewer said 'Everything You've Done Wrong' sounded like Sloan being kidnapped by a mariachi band and forced to play in their garage.

"Everyday Glory" may not be alphabetically correct for this thread, but it is quite possibly the best song on the Counterparts album. Unless it's "Between Sun & Moon" or maybe "Time & Motion." I can't decide.
Wednesday night my husband and I were taking a class at a rock climbing gym. The instructor noticed my T-shirt (it was the gorgeous red one from the Snakes And Arrows tour with the "Armor & Sword" image on the front), and from there on out it was all Rush-geeking-out, all the time. I feel sorry for the other student who showed up that evening, a little, although I do think we had enough restraint that rock climbing instruction continued to go on and everyone was belayed safely. After class we ended up searching Google to see if Hugh Syme has a coffee table book out yet, and me promising to get the instructor a copy of Geddy Lee's solo album.
What I'm trying to say is, y'all are in good company.

Oh hai. Does the "Everything is catching on fire" movement of TMBG's "Fingertips" count?
Posted by: Nicole J. LeBoeuf-Little | Sep 22, 2007 at 06:58 PM
Wait, wait, wait. I'm losing geek cred here.
"Time & Motion" is on Test For Echo. Not Counterparts.
Well, that makes my "best song on the album" decision easier.

Everyone's a V.I.P. To Someone - The Go! Team (If the Avalanches did party music - thoroughly earns the exclamation mark)
Everyone Deserves Music - Michael Franti & Spearhead (Ex Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy makes a decent stab at What's Going On)
Everything Must Go! - The Weakerthans (Completely fails to earn the exclamation mark, slow acoustic listing of a junk sale of a life)
Everything Will Flow - "London" Suede (From their second lineup, after their time as an important Britpop band had been and gone, but they never stopped just being skinny-jeans-and-synthetic-jacket cool)

Everything - Lifehouse
Everything Falls Apart - Dog's Eye View
Everything I Need - Melissa Ferrick
Everything in the World - Starling*
Everything Must Go! - The Weakerthans
Everything Shines - Great Big Sea
Everything to Everyone - Everclear
Everything Will Be Alright - The Killers
Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon
Everything Zen - Bush
*A reworking of Danny Michel's solo song "Everything I Want," recorded back in the days when Danny was a member of Starling. Now Danny's back doing solo work (which is incredible; I could not recommend it more highly), the remaining three members of Starling are playing under the name The Hundreds and Thousands, and the original song "Everything I Want" can be heard on CBC Radio Three (but can't be downloaded, hence why it's not on my iPod).
