"loving PopPop"... sounds like a wonderful man. Seeing the church listed in the obit, I'll pray a Catholic prayer...
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the infinite mercy of God, rest in peace.

I offer condolences.
It's been a big week for celebrity deaths, and while Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Cameron Williams are all big names, it was this one that got to me.

Fred, I'm so sorry. Condolences and best wishes to you and to your wife, and his family.
I popped over here thinking "Left Behind Friday?" and it took me a minute or so to understand what I was reading as I read it, and then went back and read through it again to be sure I was understanding: and what came to mind, as I read the second time, was that Bachelor Chow from February last year.
I bet you and your father-in-law had good times together when you were baching it, and those memories will enrich the stories you tell his grandchildren. He isn't dead while you, and they, remember him.
