What animal do you most identify with, and why?

I am decidedly ursine. There was a time when I would have said "dolphin," for a variety of reasons, but bear fits better now.

A moth. I'm always blundering into things.

Human.
I know, it's kind of a stretch, since I resemble one in only the most superficial of ways, but it really is the species I feel the most kinship to.

I want to give a more serious answer, but honestly I cannot think of any animal I identify with in the sense of thinking "I am a lot like a..." I know which animal I want to be like, though: the mimic octopus. Engage biological cloaking device!

Like Froborr, I don't identify much with other species.
If I *had* to pick a spirit guide, though, I'd probably hope for a crow. I've always had an affinity with corvids of all sorts, and I tend to get unreasonably chipper when crow spirits, raven messengers, tengu, and other similar tricksters, shapeshifters, and psychopomps show up in my reading.

Snake, probably: often brightly colored, hopefully comfortable with transformation, fond of long naps in the sun, loses functionality when cold.

The koala; they sleep 22 hours a day. So, in that sense, I guess the koala is more my ideal animal than the one I already identify with.

Penguin. I'm kind of short, stocky, awkward most of the time, but graceful in my element, cute, funny, look really good in formal wear, and don't do very well in the heat. :)

Cat.
I am, in fact, an anthropomorphic but psychologically feline cyborg who has been advancing Teh Kitteh Agenda for centuries.
What's that? I've just revealed my secret? Indeed I have, but by the time you react to it, it will be TOO LATE, PUNY HUMANS! MwahaHAHAHAHA! Ceiling Cat bless the glorious Feline Empire*!
